Help with feeding roaches

kc_interpreter Feb 26, 2008 09:08 PM

I have started a colony of discoids and just now started to feeding them to my male and female Veilds, my problem is since the roaches are non climbers, they just stay at the bottom of the enclosure, which my Veilds NEVER go to. They are both in huge homemade cages and have been feeding on crickets and silkworms. The crickets always go to the top and get eaten off the screen and the worms i put on some leaves close to them and they will get eaten eventually. Any idea of what I can do to get them to get eaten instead of just hanging out on the floor of the tanks?
Thanks in advance, Jeffrey

the easiest way to feed roaches is to fasten some type of cup to the side or middle of the tank. and then pour in a small amount of roaches.

make sure it is a slick sided cup, plastic or ceramic, as they will have a harder time trying to get out of those.

Get a plastic shoebox or other lightweight container and either wedge it into the branches of cham's foliage or punch holes in the edge of the container and hang it with wire hooks.

u could try feeding a "climbing" species...Lobsters r a good choice.
