Bad news ;( and good news

rainbowsrus Feb 27, 2008 04:00 AM

The bad news is it looks like boa breeding season is over, have seen no activity in a while. No more new boa porn.

the good news is.....

BRB season has just begun. I was cleaning tonight and found Fred had left another sperm plug in his water bowl.

Then I found Clover in her hidebox looking all plump and uncomfortable...

Lastly I saw the following.....

My boy Phoenix all tail wrapped on my girl Tink.

This is a first for me, two I snakes I produced in the process of producing even more snakes.

Let the games begin!!!!

Congrats Dave!! Sheesh, it seems as though the season never ends for you. Somebody is always breeding, gravid, or you have babies! Lucky guy.

I was kinda looking forward to a break inbetween them, BCI and BRB seasons. Time to catch my breath and charge up the camera batteries. Since the BRB breeding has started so early I'm thinking there won't be much of a break between the last BCI litter and the first BRB one. No rest for the wicked!!!

I think I finally have my first gravid snake of 2008. She is Leeloo, a Milk Snake Phase Thayeri Kingsnake:

Woo hoo!

Funny thing is that I never saw the male even slightly interested in her... not even once. He must've waited until it was dark and no one was aroud, lol.

I haven't seen my male BRBs show the slightest interest in my females yet either. I sure hope they are sneaky and get the job done too.

One thing I have noticed about my BRB's is they are a little shy and also fairly quick. Unlke my boa's which are more don't care who is looking and marathoners!!!

So, breeding seasons not over just changing gears.
Dang Dave, you're going to be one busy guy this year. Are you Ok with never sleeping again so you can feed and clean all those little ones on the way? lol
I enjoy seeing the tight tail wrap that BRB's get compared to some of the other types of boas that just seem to lay thier tails along side one another.
I got a couple of good shots of BRB lovin and tail wraps this season too. I've been trying to learn a little more about photoshop and playing with these pics to remove the newsprint. Thought they came out pretty cool on a solid black background. I usually put animals on black velvet but obviously can't do that while they're making babies.

These shots are both of the same pair
And this next one I just kinda like because you can see the male peeking around the water bowl. He looks a little shy like he's embarassed to be caught in the act.

Good luck to you Dave, and to everyone else this season.
