Not a Leopard Gecko - Fire in the Sky and a Flame in my Gecko Room

Rob Jenkins Aug 27, 2003 10:14 PM

Some of you may have seen on the news, we've had some awesome storms the past two nights. Last night my neighbor's tree fell over; it must have been 50 feet tall; luckily noone was hurt. After about 100 pictures of dark sky while trying to catch a lightning bolt during tonight's storm, I gave up. Later on I was able to catch this shot -

And, the flame in my gecko room -

Whaddya think?

Hi rob, very cool pics, I like the crested a lot. Here is a pic I took in the Arizona desert of my truck and lightning. Hope you guys don’t mind the off topic pics. Let me know what you think!

How do you catch the lightning? The one that I came close to getting was very, very bright. It looks like you got that one on film. What type of settings did you use, or was it an autofocus?

Thanks

Guess I’m lucky to have caught the lightning, I used a normal SLR camera, I used a time exposure of few seconds. I went through a roll of film that night, and that was the best picture of the shoot. My camera doesn’t have auto focus, I set the focus to infinity, and stood far enough away from the truck to keep it in focus. Let us know if you take any more cool pics.
