would a 10 gal aquarium be a big enough enclosure for a adult corn snake?

A 10 gallon tank would be good for a year or possibly two. But, a full grown corn snake can reach lenghts of 4 feet or more and would require a minimum of a 20 gallon tank. a 20 gallon long would even be better.

Good Luck!

I was wondering why people say a 20g is big enough for an adult corn.My female 4yo corn is 5ft and 20g is just too small.Corns are active snakes, they dont just sit in a corner of the tank.I think a 40g breeder is minimum for an adult.I guess each person has to decide whats best for themselves but I cant imagine only 3 square feet of space for a an active 5ft snake.

the biger the better i guess, but i think he was asking about minimum cage requirments

I think it depends on the individual snake, as well. My amel corn is on the smaller side (just 4 feet) and is less active than my other corns. She only comes out to roam around a day or two before feeding. The 20 gal seems to suit her fine. I guess it's just a judgment call sometimes.

thnx for the input... the only colubrid ive ever kept were kings and hogs, the 10 g was much to small for my kings however the adult hogs were 100% happy with the small enclosure.

I guess my corn is spoiled.I had her in a cage with 8sq feet of space and she used every bit of it.Now I have to put her in a smaller enclosure.Like I said I could never put her in a 20 but a 50 is what I got for her(homemade).I didnt mean to come across rude or anything or trying to start anything.
