2 28 08 pic's on and off topic...changes

FRoberts Feb 28, 2008 03:05 AM

Hello all,

Been awhile and I thought I would post some new pic's...I also as a side note gave all my large python taxa to a close friend of mine to pursue other taxa of Reptiles and Amphibians so I am down to 51 animals from 72. He is happier them a pig in mud with the 21 specimens and their enclosures. I have been keeping large pythons for 27 years but will still get to see them because I already help him clean enclosures every Sunday, so I can still see and live vicariously thru him when they breed and move onto my many other interests. I also gave him 4 imperator boas as he had none. He is in a daze to say the least. I will miss them, but have much to still take care of.

Here are some new pic's of my collection taken today in the early a.m. on 2 28 08.

First and foremost my 2 Brazilian's from Jeff. Breeding on and off since October and still going but slowing down...

Jeff Clark Male...

Male and Female...

My female Dumeril whom looks and is behaving as if Gravid...

My two Adult Leucistic Texas Rat Snakes copulating...

Florida Softshell I recently picked up at the Hamburg Pennsylvania show on the 23' rd...

My Snapping Turtle (Poppy)...

Also a kewl image I like...

I once fell from a 50' tree with many branches that slowed my decent and landed directly on my back on a large rock...

My best friend said...Dude are you ok ?...

I said...Give me 5 minutes...

"No sir...I didn't like it..." R&S.

LOL

Frank,
..That male still has that sort of anerythristic look to him. The one I have like him is still the same though overall a little darker than yours. Both of these snakes have too much color to be true anerythristic but definitely have something odd going on.
Jeff

Jeff,

Yeah he looks great still, prefer deep red myself, but he is beautiful and NEVER refuses a meal, he will eat anything you throw in front of him, mice, rats, chicks, and yep even small guinea pigs. She is quite fussy in comparison to him for sure, so are most of my snakes. He has drastic color changes from time to time, but always goes back to that same color, even turns red/orange as well. Sometimes VERY anery looking, most times somewhere in between, unusual snake for sure. Since you got one like him it is most likely in the genotype and definitely could be useful for something, if not he will sire voracious feeders for sure.

Dave,

He is elated about the snakes, over 10k in snakes and supplies/enclosures and my friend is giving him a Freedom breeder that is practically new. He looks and tells me it hasn't even sunk in yet, my albino retic the het, my tigers, regulars, albino burms, and I gave him the 4 boas and like 4 Lucy rat snakes as well.

The Brazilians are in a AP rack in that pic, they both have two separate living areas that I move them to. Their other home is always empty and not used for any other snakes. Their typical housing a Rubbermaid Underbed Box.You can see them in top pic lower right on a 4 foot globe table...and then second pic shows entire inside box. Very good size boxes for them, they have bred in both locations, she does not appear to be gravid, the last two times I bred Brazilians fertilization took place in Nov/Dec. They where breeding and now not much activity, time will tell, my Dumeril looks like she is most definitely gravid.

My luck slugs lol...time will tell...

it was because of him I got my first python at age 11. Yep a reticulated python. He had one like 17 foot at the time and a boy man envy thing was going on I guess. Years later I bred that same snake to his snake. By chance they where a pair. So it seems suiting if I am going to disseminate my collection he would get them. Happened by chance though and he was available to take them off my hands. That is a lot of larger snakes to disseminate. We now mentor each other LOL.
