Quick scenario:
I had a girl who I believed had her POS on Jan 7th. This girl really never appeared or acted like she was gravid. She was thermoregulating daily but never coiled up in HCP and on the heat. She was always somewhat stretched out and taking food (small meals) like a champ. Well about three weeks ago she went into another shed cycle, and today she shed. This is a big 7' 25lb girl who just shed after only 7 weeks and 3 small rats, actually only two rats before she went into shed.
Here's the ??, what's the chance that on Jan 7th it wasn't her POS and today was? That would mean that sperm was retained. The time line is that the last copulation was observed on 12/15. She then shed on Jan 7(thought this was the POS). Since then not really confident she is gravid. The past four days she's been ready to shed and actually staying on the cool side with temps at 83. I come home to a shed today, again only 7 weeks after the last one, and there she is sort of sloppily piled on top of herself with temps shooting 88.
Am I just stretching for some hopeless optimism or is there a possibility today could have been her POS?? Remember her last copulation was 12/15.
Any opinions or experience with sperm retention would be appreciated.
Thanks everyone,
Ralph
