My husband and I want to start breeding dubia roaches. Before we get them (he's still working on the rack), I want to have all the care details ironed out.
One thing I haven't found any info on is the possibility of using quinoa as the main protein source for the little critters. I don't have anything in particular against using dog food or unmedicated laying mash, other than there is disagreement as to the safety of these. quinoa is supposed to be a fairly complete protein source for humans, so I was thinking about avoiding dog food/mash altogether and just using the grain instead (along of course with fruits/veggies/etc...).
thoughts?
