Exciting Ovulation

mdc Feb 28, 2008 10:48 PM

This girl just ovulated last night. She is an arabesque het albino and the male was a hypo, poss jungle, 66% het albino. It would be a long wait due to the unknown genetics of the male, but luckily his first mate of the year was due today, so it shouldn't be long until I know exactly what he is.

On a side note, she was only put in this small tub as a last chance effort to get her to ovulate, which she did within one day of putting her in it. She will now be moved back to her 4x2 cage.

If all the genetics come through those could be some very interesting boas and a very diverse litter. It will be interesting to see how easy it is to tell some of the animals apart like an arabesque hypo and a low expression jungle arabesque hypo.
Good luck with all of your projects, I look forward to seeing what you produce this year.

Dave,

His first mate was a het albino female. Here due date was yesterday based on 123 days after her second ovulation, but she is still tightly coiled on the heat and no waxy stool yet. Hard for me to wait, but better for the babies - they should definately be full term.

At least I will know if he is a jungle and if he is het albino, so the wait on the arabesque won't be quite as hard. I'll post pics as soon as she drops.
