It's late,It's windy. I had a crazy idea

Eby Feb 29, 2008 12:57 AM

I've heard all sorts of tricks and techniques to stimulate feeding responses in Alterna. But has anyone ever tried wind?

Several Alterna veterans have observed that Gray-bands are more active on windy nights. Could using a fan to simulate wind would have an impact on feeding response?

Sleep deprivation sometimes spurs good ideas, and sometimes just loopy ones. I wonder what category this falls under?

I think the wind you want is more related to high and low pressure systems moving thru the area. Why don't you try to feed
when a low pressure system moves thru.

I had 3 babies that would not even take scented pinks, suddenly take live unscented pinks on the night of a storm. I have tried it since then and not had any definitive results.

So we not only chase storm fronts while trying to collect / observe, but have to wait on them to come to us to feed?

Good to know
