My Uro Update

urogirl3 Feb 29, 2008 07:30 AM

As some of you know, I have had a bad experiance with a vet who overdosed him with parasite meds.
Well then I took him to another vet who I now love and just thought I would give you guys an update.

Lacuna (my uro) is doing wonderful after a week of suringe feedings, injections of fluid and one other med for impaction he is jumping around, running around, he is very much aware of his surrondings etc. He is eating like a pig too. He finishes his plate right away and then I give him some more veggies and he finishes that up too.

He def has gained weight, and before he was just skin and bones and would not eat at all. Brought me to tears to watch him like this.
Well I call him my little pumpkin now, hes gained a little belly.
Just yesterday I walk into my room, and there he is all the way up the log to the top of the tank looking around like he was king.

Made me soo happy to see him like this. I have never seen him like this before and it's a joy to look at him everyday now all happy!

I will try and get a pic up over the weekend.

So glad to hear! I went through health issues with my two baby Saharans also, and it's really stressful, especially when an "exotic" vet doesn't have a clue about Uros and tells you to do things completely opposite to what experienced Uro owners tell you. Both Pooka and Chili are doing great now, gaining weight, very active, and shedding at the moment

Keep up the good work, we'd love to see photos if you're able to post any
