You didn't miss that much. There seemed to be a lot of banter back and forth with a few good questions to the USFWS that really didn't get any responses back. I was quite disappointed in the fact that only the people that sighen up for commentary were allowed to respond. Being on two ends of the issue from the perspective of personal ownership and public sales at the Pet Store level, I had lots of questions and comments.

I agree, it was extremely disappointing. I'm not sure why the USFWS even had a representative, she didn't really answer any questions from the other panelists. I also had a question that I submitted via e-mail (as directed by the moderators), but the question was never asked. Not sure if *anyone's* e-mailed questions were asked.

Let's all robotically chant, "This is just a fact finding exercise, this is just a fact finding exercise, this is just a fact finding exercise, etc..."

Thanks,
Ed

The US Fish and Wildlife representative actually had the nerve to tell us that it was just a coincidence that the USGS maps and the sensational but totally unscientific story about a potential Burmese Python invasion came out about the same time as the US Fish and Wildlife "request for information". Does she think we are that stupid? It is obvious that they are trying to ban import and interstate transportation of boids and they want to know who has the boids ahead of time. The information that US Fish and Wildlife is asking for has nothing to do with whether boids can live in the wild here and pose a threat to native wildlife but instead is an attempt to gather information about us and what animals we keep. Why do you think they might want that information? Duh!!!
