Children's and Spotted ID

reptilicus81 Feb 29, 2008 09:19 PM

Hey, I got these two for free when I sold some Kenyan's. I've been told they are both males, and that after their owner went into the services they weren't being cared for well. The guy I got them from, rehabbed them for awhile, but didn't want them long term.

They actually look rather good, and I have them in quarantine currently. The granite spotted is in shed, so he isn't at his brightest, but he is just a yearling. The other one is supposed to be a Children's, and is a bit shy of 3 feet long. I am not a pro with these guys, can anyone explain how to ID a normal Children's from a normal spotted? Also, the granite is a neat little guy, is this a simple recessive trait?

Here is the granite:

Here is the children's:

Hi Amy;

"Yes" the Granite Phase of the Spotted Python is a simple recessive trait.

Regarding the Childreni, if the animal is a male, I'd be interested in purchasing him.

Many thanks!

Let me know if it falls through there . . . I, too, am in the market for a male Children's! Why are these things so rare?!?

thanks,
