multiple boa enclosures update!

mack1time Mar 01, 2008 12:11 AM

Alright!!!!

My glass order finally came in today!!!
For 105$ I got 4 glass doors with hinges stuck on and a spare without and 8 triangles of acrylic.
I realize glass upped the costs a bit but for me it was well worth not having to worry about cleaning and warpage.

The glass with brass piano hinges

Dry fit!!

A close up of the hinges with some soft felt pads to avoid scratching and too much pressure from the latches

Tried rubber stoppers on the bottom too to avoid dropage or hitting the latches below. Had to double up or may try to find thicker ones!

Final resting position!

And my acrylic vents. Am slowly using a sauter gun to avoid cracking etc.

Now this was all a dry fit and thats why not all the screw holes are filled.
I will be staining them inside and out over the weekend after work and then trying to figure out heat!

If anyone knows how to heat these please chime in!!!! I would love to avoid heat tape as I plan to have 3 inches of substrate and do not want to have to space the levels out?

Heat panels?

I look forward to seeing them all finished.

Regarding heat I would look at using heat cable. Since you can use it directly in the enclosure without worry of moisture damaging it or causing a short. I would attach it to a tile in a looped pattern and put the tile in one corner of the enclosure. Test it out though if you go this route to see how well it works for ya.
