hide box

what would i use for a hide for a 5 ft rtb? or would he be fine withought one?

I like to use those big, heavy, clay caves that they sell.

They're kind of pricey, but they look cool and my boas seem to
like them. I don't always use a hide though, some boas seem OK
without a hide...

I use shallow box for my 6 footer. Like the kind a computer comes packed in. I just cut one end out. its big enough for him to coil up. Its sturdy enough for him to climb on top too. if it starts to warp ill just find another box

At that size he would probably be fine without one.
As far as function goes, the best and cheapest would be a storage container of appropriate size. Keep the lid on. Cut in a hole large enough for the snake to get in and out. Put a little absorbent substrate in the bottom. It's got to fit in the cage, of course.
