Substrate for Hatchlings....

Emberball Mar 01, 2008 06:34 PM

So, what does eveyone use for the hatchlings as far as substrate? I have a Vision hatchling rack, which I really like, and use papertowels.

Papertowels, with shredded newspaper for them to hide in on the warm side.

This season I switched from paper towels to sani-chips and have had no problems so far...

I used sani-chips but returned back to paper towels after I kept having to pull the chips out of the mouths of some hatchlings.

When I first got mine I used reptile carpet and both hides with moss I feed live in the cage so didn't want any problems. After 2 years I now use Eco-Earth 4 in. deep my Ball loves it and it keeps the humidity perfect on both sides.
