my new tort is making a gasping noise when he breathes not all the time just when he pulls his head in.today i noticed bubbles when he is breathing he stays on the cool side in his hay i put a heat emitter over there to raise his temps now about 80 he has not eaten in 2 days.he has only been in his enclosure for 2 days I'm in johnson city tn and there are no reptile vets is this something that could clear up on it's own with higher temps how long should i wait to see if he starts to eat and what should i look for to tell if he;s getting better?

Tortoises will make a hissing noise when they pull their head inside the shell, they do this to delfate their lungs to have more room for their body--the runny nose is not a good sign. I would make sure to have the enclosure heated--if you have sunny warmer days put him/her outside...but you should surely start looking for a qualified vet.
Soak him/her in luke warm water up to the bottom of the shell to keep hydrated--soak every day for 20-30 mins.
I hope this helps.
