New Chuckwalla cage

drbradsh Mar 02, 2008 02:34 PM

I just finished my new chuck hut. I posted a pic of one I did last year, but this one is much better. I have a male and a female from Canyon Lake in AZ and a hispidus I got from Tom a couple of years ago. I just pulled them out of the garage last week and they love their new home.

I'm looking for a new hispidus. Anyone know of any that are available? Thanks,

Dave

Your new enclosure looks wonderful. Great job! What are the cage dimensions? If you ever get any close ups of your rock wall or chucks I would love to see them.

The dimensions are 3 ft tall x 3 ft wide x 15" depth. I'll take some more pictures and post them soon.

Glad to see you made it over to this forum. Do you keep chucks too? How are the dipsos doing? Are the ones from Rene acclimating ok to their new home?

Hi Tom,

I'm following this forums for a few years, but I taught I could be a little active here also. So you noticed my first post. The Dipso's are doing great. The ones I got from René are also doing very well. They started eating 4 days after being awoken. The male seems to be getting intrested in one of the females. The female is also marking the entrance of her favorite burrow I think. So who knows... maybe allready eggs this year.

I don't keep Chucks, but their captive requirements match the one of the Dipso's, so by following the chuckwalla posts I can always learn more about Dipso's.
I like the Chucks, but I don't have the room to keep them also. I gonna need all the space for the Dipso and Fiji project.

I'll try to take some pics tomorrow and start a new Dipso board.

Best regards
Tom Verbeeck

Great looking cage. How did you construct your faux rocks? Do you seal them with anything to facilitate cleaning / "snalt" removal? Exotic Pets is still advertizing hispidus in the Lizards classifieds. If I had more room, I'd love to get some hispidus too ;o)
