Almost ready to Breed

I am getting really excited about trying to produce my first clutch of balls so I wanted to share some pictures with everyone.
The Male (freshly shed)

The Female(Belly shot)

The soon to be happy couple(not cooperating)

My female weighed in at 1468grams as of tonight and my male has been producing sperm from the time I got him. I am planning on pairing them up in a month or two after she gets a few more good meals in her. I know they are just normals, but I can't wait to see that first lock up! Good luck to everyone else on their projects this season. Thanks for looking.

That rack looks pretty spiffy. Did you make it or buy it? What're the dimensions?

Hehe, I kinda want one like that myself.

Thanks! I built that myself about six months ago, wired the flexwatt myself and it has done a great job thus far (Haven't burnt down the apartment yet). The only downside to it is the weight, probably close to 70lbs. The shelfs came from Menards, but they only come in white so I painted them for looks. Pretty easy to build and all in all I spent about $250 including a few tools.

I understand what you mean when you talk about the weight. I have a rack quite a bit bigger than that and it is pure melamine. It is a freaking lead weight. I like it though because it is one hell of a sturdy rack and it looks nice. I really like the look of your rack. The black tops it off too. Nice.

Looks like you are on the right track...why dont you start to breed now??
Your females has plenty of weight and good size?

I have been breeding for many years now and many of my girls are a tad over the 1000 gram mark and produce 5-6 eggs yearly and with that weight they can easily be ready the next season.

Just a thought...good luck to you
