Looking through all of the wonderful pics posted by forum members I can see P.d.jani is incredibly variable. My question is can the variation be present even in the same litter? My current knowledge with snakes is more revolved around species of arboreal vipers and pitvipers. In eyelash vipers if you have 2 gold phase adults and breed them the litter can consist of solid gold, gold with pattern, green and even pink individuals. Generally you will have the majority of the neonates resemble their parents but most of the time completely different colors will be present as well. Is this the same with P.d.jani or are you more or less sure to have the litter turn out just like the parents? (when they mature obviously)
Additionally, how common is the whitish phase with P.d.jani? It seems alot of individuals obtain this on at least a part of their body but seems more abundant with P.d.deppei from the pictures I have seen.
I am going to pick up a pair of CB 07 neonates at the end of this week and I am very excited to start working with the species. Ive read pretty much every post ever made on this forum regarding them so I feel I am well prepared but if there is any additional information one could share I would love to hear it.
Thanks in advance.
All the best,
Jeremy
