i have never owned a corn snake before... i have owned many other colubrids (hogs, kings, watersnakes...) but never a corn. i was just wondering how active are corns durring the day? most of my snakes just stay in their hide almost all day long and i just wanted a snake for my display tank im my living room that is a little more active... if cornsnakes arent very active durring the day make a suggestion for me to look into please

Sound like me - I've had snakes since I was 10 or so when I caught my first gopher but never bothered to own until last year.

They are very much like kings, except a lot less likely to bite.
They do stay in their hides quite a bit.

If you want a display reptile that is always out, get a lizard. Most snake species will really prefer to spend a large portion of the day in their hide.

Corns hide almost all the time during the day.

Garter Snakes and Green Snakes make good display snakes, although they are relatively small.

I used to work with black rat snakes and they were fairly active during the day, often spending most of their time perched on branches in their 55 gallon tank.

Russian Rats make good display snakes too.
