Hello-

I am new to this forum. well not really a few months ago i was part of this forum but it switched something and i didn't sign up again. i used to go by the name Dan. John and Steve may remember me because they helped me alot with my box turtles, Cece and the X-Buddy,(he ran away). well now we have Oscar, Cece, and Daisy. I didn't hibernate them this year. They are all three toed but i am kinda suspicious of Oscar because he is a BIG boy. He is about 8" - 8 1/2". He has three toes but he is very colorful. Any way I just wanted to say that i am back.

I've kept and seen gulf coasts that had three toes and some that looked just like an overgrown three-toed, but Ive never seen or heard of a three-toed that large. That doesn't mean it can't happen, obviously, but you might have a gulf coast box turtle. Any chance for photos?

He is very big but the guy we bought him from lives in Lafette LA and he said that he hatched him from an egg 15 years ago. He had 60 Adult Box turtles all different types. So he is probably a cross or something. I'm in an area anyway where both 3 toeds and Gulf Coast occure and so do Easterns, and Ornates. Wild Boxies run around my neighborhood to. it's cool.

Do you live in Louisiana also? Lafayette, LA is about one hour south from where I live. Do you remember the name of the person you purchased your turtle from? I would love to meet him, being that he lives so close to me.

He worked at the pet store and the box turtles they were selling were his and he told me the story of each and every one.

Was this pet store located in Lafayette? Do you live in Louisiana?
