How much exactly do your adult leos eat?

cee4 Mar 03, 2008 08:58 PM

Mine dont seem to eat very much.Yet they are nice and fat with big fat tails.
I would like to compare so I know if they are normal or not.

Yeah, mine doesn't eat much either. It eat 2 maybe 3 mealworms every 4, 5 days. Sometimes they'll eat more than usual, but usually not as much as they when they were growing.

Mine eats six to eight crickets a night. She's about three years old.

Mine has been on a hunger strike of late; I'm beginning to consider the idea of a vet trip if I can't get her eating again soon. Normally, however, her intake averages 3 crickets fed every 3 days, and she's far from thin (albeit not as chubby as the gecko in the other post).

I wouldn't presume to pick on her. She must not be as long as mine then, cause Tigger is definitely not as wide, but is 70 grams last time I weighed her. But then, Tig has to be above average in length for a female at almost 10 inches (she's not, to my knowledge at least, any kind of genetic giant; she just grew up big).

*sigh* Why does this forum treat a plus character as whitespace? (My last post meant to say 70 plus grams - it's kinda hard to get her to sit still on the scale, so being super accurate is difficult.)

i use a cool whip type container to weigh my geckos. zero out the scale with the cool whip container. then put your gecko in and weigh it again. this way they cant run away..

i only have one adult. She is 73 grams and hardly eats now. I constantly have mealworms in her cage. she wont eat for a week or more sometimes. then one day all the mealies will be gone. or if i offer her something she hasnt seen in a while like a pinky (once a year before breeding) or crickets or hornworms, she will gobble them up..

I have 5 juveniles and they will eat 10 or so mealworms per day..

Mine eat at different rates-

Both of my girls eat about 5 worms a day. I feed them every day.

the male hasnt eaten more than 2 worms since I picked him up sunday- So im going to get crickets on Wed.

eat about 5 mealies a week maybe, the male even less but he is still bigger then the female...I was worried about my temps or something being off but I all my husbandry is right so they must be okay.
My juvi eats tons and tons compared to the two adults.
