Locality L.t. amaura

Nathan Wells Mar 03, 2008 10:32 PM

As a few already know, field herping is my passion. Anyone who likes to spend time herping will tell you, the only thing worse than not being able to get out and herp on a nice day is when your friends call you and rub it in that they are the one out finding cool stuff when you're not. Such was the case last week when I took a moment from slaving away at work to call a good friend and ask a question. While talking to me he was flipping over dead logs looking for amaura and whatever else was waiting to embark on its spring emergence. Then he had to pour salt on the wounds....

A nice L.t. amaura, Montgomery Co. (in-situ)
And then with this....

So alright, I try to get the turd back. I strategically call him early Sunday morning to go herping, knowing good and well he will say no since he would be off to church (I was smart and went Saturday night). I pack up and get ready to head out and low and behold, the rain hits followed by a dang cold front. So now here it is Monday, back to work and still engulfed in really cold weather...LOL.
I will be treking all throughout Louisiana this next week looking for amaura. Maybe then I'll be able to call him and return the favor.

Well Nathan, I don't care who caught them, those are Nice! LOL!!!
One of these days, when I hit the lottery, I'll have the time to collect at least a pair of every species of Triangulum from N. America. Hey, like I always say, if your gonna dream, dream big!!
I'm sure you'll post some pics of Amaura you've found when the weather gets better, just to rub it in.

Man, if I was back home in Louisiana I'd go with you. I do miss herping there.
Good luck!

Oh, and it sounds like you're a good ol' Catholic boy. Going to church on Saturday night. That's how we always did it.

LOL You've sure got some nice looking animals in your neck of the woods! You had better get out and turn some up next warm spell.

Cool pics...too bad they weren't your finds! LOL.

Good luck with your trip and give me a shout when you get back.
