cb70 rack..

Bergmantis Mar 04, 2008 12:03 AM

I am building a rack for iris cb70s but never worked with these tubs before. As I am in the phase of designing the plans, I am thinking about the height of each shelf. My question is this: Are cb70s exactly 6" tall like I have been reading about? Or, are there small feet under the tub so when I get the materials and tubs after designing the plans, I am going to realize my measurements are off because the tubs are too tall by 1/4th of an inch?

Thanks,

Mat

Not sure of the actual tub height but how I always get around design vs actual is to plan extra height for a toe kick. But wait to make toe kick filler until AFTER assembly based on actual tubs being used.

You can see the toe kick or extra area at the bottom of this small quarantine room rack.

I just measured my CB70's. They are a little under 6 inches tall. However, that is with the lid on. Mine were about 5 3/8" without the lid. I have always built my racks using the actual tubs as shelf spacers. I build them upside down attaching the top to the sides then placing a tub on that. Then I set the next shelf on the tub and attach it to the sides. Repeat, repeat...

***I also use addition spacing material on the 4 corners of the tub as I build to allow for air space and to enable the tubs to slide freely.

Hope this helps--Kraig
