THE SNAKE BAN ?

ravencassidy Mar 04, 2008 06:24 PM

I was wondering how the snake ban is really going to hurt breeders or not, and people that just have pet's? I thought the snake Ban is just stopping the importation of wild caught snakes to the USA? Please don't hate me but there are plenty of captive bred snakes that are already here, why catch wild ones and have the risk of disese and mites being brought back to the US?

The proposed ban isn't just for importation of WC but for the interstate transportation for the snakes as well. Essentially you would not be able to buy, sell or trade outside your state.

Oh, that's stupid, what a bunch of a-holes. Who cares if snakes are sold from state to state. That makes no sence at all. Just alot of stupid laws made by stupid people. The Government sucks, Look what they did to the Electric car!!!!

Hey, i haven't heard anything about the AIR powered car in about a year! They already had working prototypes! It ran on compressed air, and an air compressor could be hooked up to be powered off the axle, so it would never need refueling!

Anyways, the IMPORTATION part, i kinda get, but the interstate part will really mess up the business (which is probably what they're secretly trying to do, sorry to say). It wouldn't be impossible, but it would be extremely difficult, especially for states with a lower population of herpers and herp stores, like Minnesota, where I live. All states would have to be able to run completely self contained, relying only on other stores already in the state. Like i said, it would be hard, and most stores probably wouldn't be able/want to put in the time and energy to keep it up and running (IMO). Simply put, it would be a slow death, but a death nonetheless.
