Breeding pyros

mojoro May 22, 2003 10:00 PM

I have a pair of cb 1999 pyros that were first witnessed mating on April 13th. It's about a montha nd a half later and I still see no signs of eggs in the female. I tried breeding them last year and ended up with nothing. I brumated them both this past winter and the started eating just fine. What do you thing the problem could be. Could I have a bad male?

If you had a bad, ie infertile, male, the female would still lay the duds. Sounds to me like you are missing some cue to get the female to ovulate. Something is happening that is cutting her cycle short like not enough food or too hot or too cold on temps. Hard to say without knowing your conditions.
