Hovabator

omerfriedman Mar 04, 2008 06:58 PM

I recently got a used Hovabator off of craigslist. it looks kind iffy, and i was wondering what people's experiences were with them. this is my first year breeding (i haven't gotten any eggs yet, but i'm prepared in any case) and if all my females get pregnant, then i'll have 3 clutches (most likley small clutches, the females are around 1500-1700g). My main concerns are with the reliability of the thermostat and, once the clutches hatch, the baby snakes getting burnt on the heating element. any advice would be greatly appreciated!

thanks

Omer

i have a hovabator, i used it for gecko eggs but i will not use it for balls. some people have used them and had decent luck but most of what i read seems negative.

ive read if you use a good thermostat with them, it helps.

as for being burned and you still plan on using it, put the eggs in some sort of container with a lid.

im in the process of making an incubator out of a free mini fridge from CL. fridge, flexwatt, thermostat and a small computer fan is all you need. although im not sure how much flexwatt i will need just yet lol still trying to find more answers.

You mean i should hook up the hovabator to another thermostat?
