V. caudolineatus hatching!

Neal_ Mar 04, 2008 11:58 PM

That clutch of caudolineatus eggs laid on 12/12/07 started a-hatchin’ Friday night. They all made it out of the egg by Monday. The egg on the right was the last to hatch. It had rolled out of the nest chamber when I was digging them up. Guess I must have incubated it right side up. Think I’ll name that one Lucky.

The same female laid another clutch of four eggs on 1/17/08. That’s the lower row of eggs. There was four, but one went bad early on. Not the one I flipped (did it again) though. Copulation was observed early in Feb. but she hasn’t appeared gravid again.

First to leave the egg. The one on the left pulled back in and took its time coming out.

Lucky

Thanks RSG!

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

Beautiful monitors! I loved the hatching video, that's really awesome footage you got there! They are sooo cute, I wish you the best with those little guys. Cheers, Lance

Thanks! I tell you those things are even cuter than the pics and vid are able to show. Glad you liked the video. I’m still working on my videography skills. Cheers

but I didn't really do anything.

My advice is to keep all of them, treat them like gold, and breed them again when they are grown. When the second clutch hatches, get them in the hands of someone who can do something with them. I bet Frank would be willing to trade for gilleni...

Good Job!!

Neal_ Mar 07, 2008 09:02 PM

aww, you’re too modest. Anyway, as usual you have solid advice. That is just what I plan on doing. Cheers

Neal,

Congrtats on the Caudo hatchlings! I have 2.3 pure Caudos right now and am looking for more. If you're selling please let me know as I'll buy as many as you're willing to part with.

Take care,

Thanks John. I’m really just showing off, not advertising. But I might be open for some kind of trades in the future (assuming I hatch more). Cheers
