Do bearded dragons lose color as they get older? younger bearded dragons seem a lot more colorful to me. Thanks!

Tough to say. I had a really pretty orange and white baby that grew up into a kinda pretty yellow dragon. I also took in a baby that I would have sworn was a normal but after a year she turned into a really pretty colorful orange dragon.

It really varies. Typically, dragons increase in color with age, but much of that is dependent on genetics.

do they maintain the pattern on their back that I see much clearer on the younger beardies? I typically see some shading or a two tone color on adult beardies with the lack of the pattern. I think the patter make the beardies even more unique looking and I am very curious to find out. Thanks for the replies guys!

I think I know what your saying. From what I've seen the adults unique patterns seem to be blended together more and I find sub-adults and juveniles' patterns are a lot more distinct

yes, exactly you explained it better than i did. Thanks!

Yeah the pattern tends to fade out a little bit, but all that also depends on genetics too, I have an adult male that has very distinct pattern, but they are a little less common.
