I don't know anything about igs...he is amazing looking, quite strange actually (in a fascinating sort of way. LOL) He looks like he'd be a handful to handle?
Susan
He used to be sweet as an angel but since he entered his breeding season he became an evil!Chasing me around the house trying to attack!
Better find him him a girlfriend so he stops chasing YOU!! LOL

I have to laugh because Sherri has a Corucia named George who is the Corucia from hell in that he chases her around the house as well. It can be said that George and your Ig have good taste.

Hi Sue!
How are things down under? I was wondering as restrictive as Australia is in exports...Are things just as restrictive in imports? In other words, is part of the reason you haven't seen more action with Ig's is because they are rarely encountered in the trade there? I hope yoour BTS's are doing well.
Sincerely,
Brian

Lovely to hear from you.
Yep, Oz is very paranoid about importing exotic species. If I want to see an ig (or a chameleon - they are neat)...or a Corucia for that matter...I would have to go to the zoo!
Miss Lizzy is in fine form. Her cat attack is but a faded memory. We're starting to get some warm Spring weather and she has been munching snails again with evident satisfaction - her waistline is expanding! I just adore watching her eat with that big BLUE tongue!!
Hope your Corucia family is thriving.
Warm regards
Susan

Hi Sue,
I am so glad to hear that Miss Lizzie is doing so well. I have a Northern Tiliqua that was under the weather and is also recovering.
It is a shame that responsible parties such as yourself cannot have Iquanas. If regulated with a permit, I don't see a problem. There are an abundance of Ig's down here. You can't even give them away. In fact, I recently found a newborn hatchling in my backyard.
It is the same with the Galah. There are so many in Aussieland that there are shot and poisoned as pests. In the U.S., Galah's go for $2000 and are worshipped. Again, It is a shame that the unwanted can't be redirected to a somewhat brighter future.
Many parts of Australia would be ideal for captive propagation of Corucia zebrata at official Research Centers.
It is always a pleasure to hear from you as well. The Corucia family here and at location LEE/2 are doing well. We rescued 3 Corucia a couple of weeks ago and are treating them. They are enjoying the Southern Florida Tropical Climate.
All the best,
Brian

Yes, you are right about the galahs - they are a dime a dozen. Even more common where I live are the sulpher-crested cockatoos - very noisy, but beautiful birds (white with yellow crests.)Every now and again we hear about Customs catching people with the birds stuffed into posting tubes, aimed for the US market.
Can't imagine finding a baby ig in the garden!! What about crocs?? Isn't that what Florida is famous for? We have a few of those ourselves...further North than here, thank goodness! A tourist was taken by one fairly recently. eeeeewwch.
Would love to see some pics of your PTS rescues..can u post some?

Hi Sue,
Yes, Alligators are what Florida is famous for and the American Crocodile found mainly in the upper Keys-as far as endemic species are concerned. The Caimen from South America has been introduced and is established here.
I don't have the means to send pictures unfortunately. We are poor and primitive in funds and technology.
Shipping birds in tubes! How awful!
Yes, and it is the 2nd Ig caught in that area.
Have to go for now-take care.

Yes, But with his spines sticking up he reminds me of a cat with it's hackles up! Everytime I see that sofa pattern, I think I'm looking at the living room here.

Hi Flavia!
We also have a male iguana (his name is Cujo) who is going through his yearly rutt right now... Godzilla looks very much like a typical male iguana going through that time of year! LOL We had to smear Cujo's glass doors with vaseline and flour so he can't see "the other iguana" in the glass, otherwise, he contiuously charges at his reflexion, to the point that he seriously damages his snout.
Cujo also has a towel he likes to mate with every year; we also have a female iguana and we rub the towel over the female, then hand it to Cujo so he can let his frustrations out... LOL He bites it, wraps his arms around it and drags it around the room. Such a gentleman... What do you do with Godzilla? Does he have any special "toys"?! LOL!!
Julie and Justin
Yes, this one! He LOVES it!

...only on a kingsnake forum can one converse about such things and not be thought a lunatic....LOVE IT!!!

Hey Kim and Flavia. I hope all has been well.
Kim: I tried writing back to you awhile back but for some reason, my letters were kicked back. Anything new with Dillybeans? How's the temperature been in Canada?
Flavia: How's your Corucia doing? Have you made any enclosure upgrades? Have you gotten any new critters?
Good to hear from you!
Sincerely,
Brian

My baby Leonardo (MTS)is doing great, eating, doing his business, becoming tame, i adore him! Last week i bought a uromastyx in the same pet shp where i bought Leonardo. To say the true, i rescued him because i never saw such a thin reptile in my whole life! When i took him in my hands it was like handling an empty shell!Well back in action! Fluids, force feeding etc, etc...
ahhhhh...I see. You must of tried to reply when our computers were all infected with that blast virus.
The one email you have (not the hotmail one) is my work email, and when thier servers were infected, they shut down access to all incoming and outgoing mail that originated outside the hospital.
So, that'll be why it came back. We're up and running again, so email away!
