it's not a reptile but I'm thinking you guys on here are probably experts on to ship live animals at low expenses. So I need to get a cat from Virginia/ washington to new york city or boston which ever is cheapest...

The cheapest way is to skin it, gut it, and de-bone it first. Just kidding, I have no idea how to ship a cat, but I would check with the major shippers Fedex,UPS,USPS, Delta to see which ones will even do it first and then ask them how it needs to be packaged and handled to be compliant and for the wellfare of the animal.

I think your only option is with Delta Pets First. It's same day shipping, usually a direct flight, and it runs about $170. I don't think you have to be Delta varified either......but be forewarned, Delta customer service can be a nightmare. Good luck.
