MichelleRogers Mar 06, 2008 10:55 AM

Who has brought their thayeri or anything else up yet?
Has anyone witnessed any copulation yet?

So far mine came up last week some feeding some not, no couplation yet.

Good luck to all for a successful breeding season!!!!

I've had 4 California king females hook up and 3 thayeri females hook up so far (2 separate times each). I'm still waiting for a number of my girls to shed. I'll see if I can get some photos next time.

This green male was a virgin and he hooked up right away with my copper female. Although I witnessed 2 insertions on different days, I didn't get a good picture.

The olive green female hasn't shed yet, but I put the green male in with her today for awhile to see how they like each other. Looking good so far...I didn't witness a mating, but she wasn't flicking him off either.

Maria - those are beautiful breeders. I love them all, but especially the olive green female. Thanks for sharing the photos!

Thanks Tom!

That olive green thayeri is my favorite female. I am admittedly partial to green thayeri and I love bow-ties but despite that fact, she one of the most gentle snakes in my collection. She has never displayed even the slightest hint of nervousness or apprehension. She's is just plain old sweet..no other way to put it!

This is her first year and she's nice and big...about 300 grams...so, i'm hoping for the best. This is a very exciting time of year

She reminds me of an ole olive female I had. She threw 13 fertile eggs every year. I can't wait to see what they produce....Congrats.

NO........... usually by this time every year I would have taken my breeders out of the dark and turned on the heaters by now. I'm kinda bummed about it........ but I'm managing/coaching a little league team this year and thats got me busy.

Good luck to everyone on your projects this year.

I just started putting on all the lights in the room. This year I am working less so I am actually going to attempt to breed all my females. I usually hold off on a few because of time but I'm going full bore and I picked up a few more so I have my fingers crossed.

I'm expecting eggs from Miss Bianca within a week, and eggs from Leeloo in about 10 or so days. My Cal Kings have been breeding off and on, but I can't tell if she is gravid yet. My Pueblans have been showing interest, but I haven't actually witnessed any mating. Although I never witnessed ANY interest with my Thayeri, yet I've got two VERY gravid girls! I sure hope their eggs are fertile.

Oh, and my gecko just laid her eggs today. Yipee!!!

Good luck with your pairings this year!

waspinator421 Mar 12, 2008 01:26 PM

Thanks Michelle! I know, it will be hard to let go of most of the babies, especially from my Whites. I am going to try and limit myself to only holding back a pair, unless of course something really crazy pops out too. lol.

Miss Bianca is getting restless, and is cruising in and out of her nest box. Hopefully she will drop those eggs soon!

Im only trying for one thayeri pairing this season. The female is the olive (Russ Bates stock) and the male is the light green (Bob Hanson stock). Hoping for some nice greens:

Craig, that is a beautiful pair. You should throw some awesome babies with those. I like the light lime green leonis.
Good luck to you, I promise you won't be disappointed the only problem with your first clutch is you will want to keep them all.
