Okay, since I moved in January, my leopard gecko has been experiencing shedding problems. With the shed before the last one, he had some skin on a couple of toes and I soak his feet and more or less managed to coax the skin off with a wet q-tip. I noticed one of the toes looked like it had a wound, but I figured it would be okay once the skin was off.
He has had the problem again with his last shed, despite my efforts to up the humidity in his tank. I was soaking him again today when I noticed that the previously injured toe was missing its tip. And it didn't look all that good, either, looking perhaps mildly black. I don't know if it got pinched off this time around or if I made a serious mistake not worrying about his toe before.
Anyway, what should I do about the toe now? Also, what would be the most efficient process for helping his shedding, so I don't have to soak him afterward and apparently not necessarily get the results I'm looking for? Should I soak him some when I notice his skin getting dull as it does just before he sheds?
Thanks.
