10 viable eggs? No slugs?
Just to be clear....most wait til about 1500g to breed, right?
And thats usually a first clutch so its pretty small?

(oh great, I'm just adding questions to the thread! lol)

Likely, no. Possible, yes. I've seen wild caught gravid Females that barely broke the 1000 gram mark lay 8 egg clutches, so it is in the realm of possibility.

Like everyone else said- it's extremely unlikely for this to happen. A safe way to figure an "approximate" number of eggs you could possibly expect from a female is to divide her weight by 300. The resulting number will only be a guess-timate - but should allow you to prepare your incubators for an appropriate number of eggs.

What prompted this question? Did you palpate you female and this was the number you arrived at?

Just wondering.

this equation only works for smaller females. Larger and older females can produce about 1.5 - 2 times the eggs that result from this equation.

It's not fool proof and I've only used it as a guessing tool.

Anyone who never understood the saying, "Don't count you eggs before they hatch." - Never bred reptiles.

no some one was selling a female which he said laid 10 eggs but that was her weight after she laid but I didn't know at the time I posted this question. Thanks to all posts!
