Only if the shipment was coming into or out of the US. You would still be able to continue doing business as usual within Canada.

JET Pythons

i see, well thats good i guess for us, although im sure our guv. will just do what you guys do, but if this ban happens, i just want all you to know, i will be buying american ball pythons for 1/6th to 1/8th of the price lol, send them away before your stuck with them lol hahahahaa
If the "ban" goes into effect, SOME of its implications would actually be good for the BP industry. The interstate transport ban would, of course cause major problems for our hobby and industry. But a ban on importation would immediately raise the price of baby normal balls far above their present artificially low level(which is kept low by competition from incredibly cheap "farmed" import babies), making captive breeding in this country a much more viable occupation.

The Avalanche has already started-it is too late for the pebbles to vote....
How greedy can some breeders get. The end of importation of ball pythons might artificially inflate the price of normals for a year or two. But with the price of morphs let alone hets dropping by the hour. Normals are really obsolete to the private breeder that has any common sense. The truth is what we don't need is anymore ball pythons breeders at all. The demise in the market is the product of over production by breeders and not farmed imports that basically go into the pet trade. African exporters relay heavily on the money they generate thru sustainable export .They need it to survive. Yet greedy breeders who supposedly are producing thousands of dollars from their morph projects would just as soon see these guys starve so that they can try and milk another few extra short lived bucks out of their normal by product animals. SAD.

Ernie couldn't agree more!
In addition to the fact of those animals going into the pet trade, and keeping things overseas going, they are the only source for new morphs. (Not combo's but morphs)
It is the new morphs that keep the hobby going strong, most people can make combo's but ever one needs new morphs to make new combo's.
Banning imports is not the answer!!
