was recently told feeding rats dog food with red dye could be fatal to my snakes does anyone know if that is true or not

Just look up rat food on this forum and in the archives for past years and you will find plenty of info on what to feed your rodents.

i avoid all dyes by feeding OATS, with or without molasses, along with fruits/vege's, can't go wrong, larger healthier litters too IMO
