Friday's Progress Report

Sunshine Mar 07, 2008 12:14 PM

We're getting stronger everyday! I am still doing the fluids by tube. The wobbling is almost gone and the little fella is noticeable stronger. It's beginning to resist the tubing and I see the tongue flicking thing regularly. The enclose is being explored now and some urates were passed this am. I can even see the dark spot through the ventral scales of the meal I gave it Mon. Poop baby, poop! When it does I'll offer it food again.

That's just super Linda, well done!

At this point I'd start adding some food back into the system. Dont go straight to something that's complex to digest, start slow and see how baby's body reacts. I'd do something like a 5:1 ringers:baby food at first and gradually work towards 2:1 over a few feeds, then do maybe 2:1 once a day with the rest of your fluid sessions. A couple of days of that and maybe send a mouse part down if you think its strong enough to handle the force feed. You'll kinda have to play it by ear based on baby's condition and stress level as it gets stronger. Its actually nice to read that its fighting you!
