A knoblochi question?

Patton Mar 08, 2008 07:04 PM

Is there a visible difference between a Chihuahua Mtn. King
and a Tarahumara Mtn. King, or is it just a locale thing?

They are one and the same-Tarahumara Mntn. king was formerly a much more frequently used common name than it is presently....

Phil,....

As the other poster mentioned, the name Tarahumara, and Chihuahua Mountain Kingsnake(knoblochi) are both synonymous with one another, and the two names are basically used interchangeably.

Tarahumara is a reference to the native Tarahumara Indians that are indigenous to the area of Copper Canyon in Chihuahua, Mexico which is in the Sierra Madre mountain range. The subspecies "knoblochi" has a very small limited range in the Mojarachic region of Chihuahua, Mexico.
