skinny little blonde ... or a boy?

hogsandpythons Mar 08, 2008 11:01 PM

I adopted this light colored western in January and assumed because he was the same size as both of my males that he was an easy call. And today as I tried to demonstrate probe sexing on a known male, it probed as a female, which now seems obvious when I compare the tail length to my provem male, but just wanted to double check.

Does this light colored hoggie look like a skinny girl or a male? The previous owner didn't know how old he/she was but assumed it was male because it was slimmer than her other one. Opinions are appreciated! Adam

For my part, I think that it is a male.
The tail appears quite long to me for a female.

Thanks! I spent the last couple of months wishing she was a female, but because she is slender and her tail seems kind of long, I thought male for sure. I wasn't able to compare to my other two males, because they were in brumation when I aquired her in January.

She is a neat looking snake though ... and fed for me yesterday for the 1st time since I've had her

Looks like a young (and nice looking) female that just hasn't started packing on the weight yet to me.

Take Care
