For SAMCIN- Iguanas as prizes/for sale on boardwalk.

Hello, I was just scanning through some old posts, saw one of yours about carnival iguanas being given as prizes and stuff. I was just in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and a store there had the usual "hermit crab explosion" but also had 2 30 gallon tanks with 25-30 baby iguanas in each. They were only 10 dollars apeice, but all looked unhealthy, malnourished, and generally all around hurtin. I tried to talk to the shop owner lady, but she seemed to think her care was immaculate. Im not sure if this info would help out for your website, as they werent being given away as prizes, but i thought i'd add a few cents into the info highway. The name of the store i believe was Irenes Gifts and Souveigners, or something along those lines. The store had 3 locations along the 5-10 mile boardwalk, all 3 locations having the same ammount of iguanas in bad condition for 10 dollars. Thanks for reading my post, and i hope that this helps some iguanas out there, or helps some people notice where things like this are happening, and helps propel a voice out of them in hopes that maybe this can all be stopped..

Thanks Again,
Charlie Ashley.

I have heard several complaints about that same store before. I thought the state of NJ said those boardwalk stores must have a pet store permit. The only thing I can think of is to introduce a local ban on animals on boardwalks. The plight of the NJ boardwalk iguanas has been a popular topic on the Internet and I know that the Cape May Health Department cleaned it up in their area.
