Ovulation question

jbn9960 Mar 09, 2008 04:11 PM

Will a female ovulate even if there was no copulation? My anery het snow courted my het albino for about a month, but I never saw copulation. Took the guys out for a few days to get him a meal and a rest and she blew up. Put him back in and he seems uninterested. Does this mean the litter will be all slugs? Thanks for helping out a beginner! Jack

Its possible.... In some rare cases, a female can ovulate without ever even seeing a male. Its very rare, but anything can happen. I wouldn't exactly plan on slugs, you never know what kind of things may be going on when you are not around, there may have been some copulations you just didn't see. Leave the male in for a while just incase he decides to go back to her.
hope this helps

I'm having four litters this year, two have already come, and two are yet to be here. I saw courtship, but I didn't see copulation at all this year. I checked a few times each day, but never saw it. Obviously their was penetration, I just missed it.
