Tumors in rats...GRAPHIC!!!!

diggy415 Mar 09, 2008 09:56 PM

There is no excuse for this to happen, dispatch when it’s small; this is one of the two rats I sold to a gal 3+years ago, tumors happen. But whey let the animal suffer?

There is no excuse to let an animal get like that. Poor thing. Was it euthanized or did it die naturally?

yeah she has a ringneck and a 55 gallon fishtank, she doesn't want to clean the tank until her elephant fish diesm, she's afraid it will if she takes it out to clean, rearrnge the tank, i offered to do it free as i have done with mine, no sale. Im afraid the dog will break it's leg or something and she won't take it to the vet as she might think it would be amputated so she will just love it until it dies or something. Mind you the house in in emaculate shape, and so are the animals, just the rats i saw was the problem the other one is wild as well. guess i won't be selling any as pets, because my friend, her neighbor might find someone i don't know to get her one. I could go on for ages about these topics, and the animal control officer (the one) is as useful as that rat. Our town sucks for vet's and ACo's.

What is sad is that my vet and I were just talking about this sort of thing today. He says that MOST people let an animal suffer rather than have it euthed. Heck, people can't man up and feed prekilled, why should it surprise me that they won't end a suffering. Specifically we were talking dogs and cats (and how the majority are obese) but it carries even more with exotics. He says all they see is the cost of the office call and just turn a blind eye to the suffering. Mind you this is a man who refers folks to me if they can't afford an rodent to be pts.
