I would like to take a moment to say THANK YOU to all of my fellow enthusiasts that have taken the time out to respond to my posts, offer insight and help me to become a better keeper.

Our snakes thank you as well

You're very welcome!,....and I hope some of it helps you and the snakes out in the future. One good thing you have going for you, is that you seem to care a great deal for your animals, and want to know about them. I'm sure that Pueblan Milk has a MUCH better life with you, than it had before as well!.

best regards, ~Doug

That was a very nice thing to say Doug

I'm that goof ball everyone sees helping the turtle cross the road.

After seeing the results of uninformed people leading animals to slow grueling deaths due to improper or lack of husbandry I decided that it was imperative to educate myself to ensure that every single one of these reptiles receives the ultimate care.

I have also learned the corporate practices of certain pet store chains, and will never buy as much as a water dish from anyone who condones mass capture of wild reptiles, only to lose alarmingly high percentages in transit from stress. < sorry almost went off on a rant there >

The Pueblan has cream colored bands that gradually turn peach on the tail. The reds are scattered scale plates, with only 2 blotches of full red.

The feeding problem is solved, I just gave him a pair of newly weened hoppers, too small to hurt the snake.

We are setting up to adopt a pair of hatchling Savannah's, so the adult mice will have a place to go, and if you have ever seen a Savannah Monitor eat, the mouse don't have much chance to bite anything. For now, they can keep on churning out piles of pinkies.......

Dorothy (the boss) is a big fan of Savannah's, and owned one for several years before we met, so who am I to argue? especially when she lets me get away with having colubrids in almost every room of the house.....

The kid on the computer is our daughter.

Regards,
Wayne A. Harvey

Yes, I can relate,.....where I used to live in Central Florida, I'd always see Gopher Tortoises walking along directly in the road from time to time, so I'd stop, and help them off into the bushes nearby. Other animals too from time to time would need some assistance as well.

I'd like to see another crisp, clear photo of that Pueblan too sometime,.....the whitish, creamier colored ones that have most of the red obscured with black, are the "Oreo's". It could also be somewhat intermediate between the two I mentioned as well. In any case, it's a true Pueblan. Please, don't forget the vet visit,....soon. I also previously emailed you some additional advice.......hope things work out well!

best regards, ~Doug

Central Florida? Hmmmm. I lived in Orlando for 2 years, The first thing that grabbed my attention were the over abundant Anoles on the pool deck. Tree frogs on my window at night were cool as well. The roaches I could live without.

Gator watching quickly became a big hit, and Blue Springs, the manatee, all just awesome. Spent a lot of time at Sanford Zoo.

The heavy concentrations of homosapiens drove me to move back up here to "hermit hollow".

Now that the Pueblan has shed, I'll snap a clean photo.

We are really lucky, I have a vet 14 miles away who does reptiles, and examines feces for parasites for a mere $35

Our dog has an appointment tomorrow, so I will see if he can check over the snake at the same time. Dr. Peters is cool, and his primary interest is the animals first, the money second. A rare occurrence in todays world.

Peace,
Wayne

I don't know why but no email yet?

Yeah, I'd expect to see some cool stuff tucked up in things around that area.

Sounds like you have a great vet too,....animal's first, money second, is always a good sign..LOL!

Hmmm?, I guess it's possible I was thinking of a different person's snake problem,...I frequently talk snakes to many other people as well, so it's not too hard to get things mixed up!

Anyway, I look forward to seeing a good clean shot of that Pueblan sometime soon.

best regards, ~Doug
