Do w hogs double clutch?

myotismn Mar 10, 2008 04:32 PM

This is my first year breeding my w hogs. She is gravid...looks like she's going to burst and has started refusing meals, so I think I'm getting closer. When she does lay, is it worth my while to try to double clutch her. She is in great health so I am not worried about that. But has any one else out there had success with this?

To double clutch, when do you reintroduce the male? Right after she lays her eggs?

My females usually go into an immediate shed after laying. I introduce a male as soon as she completes this shed.

that's a little misleading-it usually isn't immediate, but within a couple weeks. I also try to get her to take several small meals before this shed.
