Adult male three-toeds will have reddish eyes and a thick hind claws. The red can be anywhere from a pinkish hue to bright red. The females will have brown eyes or sometimes a deep ruby color. Eye color in the males seem to change depending on the health and levels of hormones in the male. I had a male with almost yellowish-brown eyes and within a few months of proper care and diet his eyes became bright red. He is now an agressive fellow but as a sickly three-toed he was very timid.
