Why? is it hibernating? if so why dose he bask in the light so often, is it common for a yearling to heat up and then burrow under bedding and sleep all day? I'm good with snakes but new to lizards.I guess I thought I'd see more of him...Thanks, JB

they dont hibernate. In colder climates they slow down and dont eat as much. It is probably scared. Is it eating? If so it will come around. Double check that your temps are hot enough and he has a proper hide.
Are your basking temps up around 140 degrees?
Someone told me 115* but I recently purchased a 100 watt lamp and $15.00 UV bulb so I'll just lower it a lil.and yes he eats good and s#1Ts good too! Thanks for the info. JB
Up your basking temp to at least 130, and all the lethargy will disappear. All the Iguanids I've kept go about their daily functions operating between 100 and 110 degrees ( body temp, not physically basking ) If they can't get their temps up, you'll run into what your experiencing, and soon after you'll run into health problems. Low temps will suppress the immune system and let all sorts of stuff go un-checked.
