Is he on pine shavings? I would suggest ditching the pine for some dampened (not soaking wet) paper towels. The pine has terpenes in it that have shown to actually cause RI. Better safe than sorry I think. Plus paper towels or newspaper is cheap.

Switching to paper towels is still a good idea when they are sick.

I would switch to paper towels as well and try putting the snake into a smaller cage, that way it is almost forced to be warmer than normal. Don't forget the water bowl either. That is how I usually set-up mine that get an RI.

awwww, poor baby. Is this fella getting medical treatment? Be sure to watch/check for mouth rot. Hope it gets better right away.
