I've had it happen once, a supposed cb animal only a few months old prolapsed, vet ran a fecal and discovered high numbers of one celled flagelites and started treatment, unfortunatly that animal died the same day

I've kept many chondro's for years and only had it happen once,
although I've noticed with other people that when an a chondro has a prolapse it is likely to have more,

however it doesn't happen as often as you might think,
I don't expect it to happen to my chondro's more than any other species I keep, just make sure the chondro you get is a healthy cbb

I've been keeping chondro's for 9 years now and have had this happend twice (with the same animal) As scary as it sounds and looks, it can be fixed. If you're keeping a lot of chondro, i think you will run into it at sometime, but it's not very common.

My adult Sorong type prolapsed last year. There was no sign of parasites, she had deficated a couple of days before with no problems and had just eaten. I've yet to have someone give me any insight into why it happens. I think it just does. She's the only one that has, it was treated immediately, and so far...knock on wood...she has not done it again. That said, I'm VERY conservative on my feeding regimen now. I didn't feed a lot before, but now most of them get 2 weeks between feedings, and an animal that is just the size of the widest part of their body.
