Anyone wanna herp? N.W. South Carolina

Upcreek6683 Mar 11, 2008 01:32 PM

Lookin for some people who wants to get together and go herpin. I live in Pickens South Carolina. I know tons of places to go huntin from Lower Part of South Carolina on up to Virginia. Its been a little cold but its startin to warm up. I went out the other day and found a very large snapper and some sm. bull frogs. Its just a matter of time. Usually about mid April to 1st of May i can go out with Success. I went out last year right around the first of may and saw somewhere around 25 snakes. But im sure it varies. Stuff should be out within a couple of weeks. I also know of some great spots to look for Carolina Pygmies, timbers, Coppers and Cottons. Oh God, Tons of Cottons!!!! I do keep a couple of things that i catch but i mainly like to take pics.

Just email me at Upcreek6683@yahoo.com and well keep in touch till season is around.

Thanks and Cant Wait.

Jonathan

Hey...Greenville,SC here. The only thing I see up here is Northern Watersnakes(I could catch them daily if I wanted, theyre EVERYWHERE),e. Box Turtles,Stinkpots,Sliders, toads and bullfrogs. The river/creek system around downtown Greenville(Around the Zoo)is a good place to find tons of Bullfrog tadpoles and n.watersnakes.I have caught two dekays before and a 5'plus blackrat.NEVER any corns, but Ive seen some at a breeders house that were wild caught from this area and they look like ugly(dull) miami phase corns..cant wait to find a corn up here.
