Question on keeping Rhino's outside

Lokii Mar 11, 2008 04:07 PM

Hi, I live in western AZ and was thinking about getting a rhino Ig. My question is do alot of people house their adult rhino's outside year round? Also since Az gets to about 110f during the summer, would a rhino be able to tolerate this? Any help is greatly apreciated. Thanks

how cold does it get there during the winter? and yes, an adult rhino could easily handle temps that high during the summer. in fact, my baby basks at that temp.

The winters in az are very mild. At night temps dip to the 40's and during the day it ranges anywhere from high 40s to mid 60's

during the winter time, it may be wise to house them inside. and your winters sound almost identical to southern california winters . it's already getting up to the mid 70's to low 80's here...
